Amy Medrano is a Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist, currently based in Chicago.

Her works are fueled by memory, loss and childhood. She conjures scenes inspired by elements of nature and the cultural sentiments. Through oil painting and mixed media techniques, she translates her conscious and subconscious thoughts that emerge from a nostalgia to a cohesive image. Just as memories are fluid and fueled by emotion, she uses texture to animate the scene. Amy’s goal is not to perfectly recreate an image, but to capture the feelings and honor the past from which they came from.
